Flying the 1996 Aviat Husky A-1

The Husky recently passed its annual inspection and is ready to fly. However, an interested buyer is asking that we put fifteen hours of flight time on the Husky so that we can do a second oil analysis. Sounded fair to us - so we've been enjoying all that the Husky has to offer.

On Wednesday we took the Husky up to Gaston's White River Resort in Northeast Arkansas. We had a strong tail wind, so we were able to make the 250 mile flight (approximate) in less than two hours. The wind was against us on the way back, so the flight was about a half hour longer.

Gaston's White River Resort is an excellent place to take a small plane. The grass strip is easy to handle, the views are amazing, and the lodging is pretty solid as well. Given that this is the off season, the restaurant wasn't operating while we were there. However, I can tell you from prior experience that the chefs at the resort are very talented. And if you catch some fish on the river, then the chef will cook them up for you.

James got some video of our takeoffs and took a few photos while we were there, which I've posted below.
